Meet Dr. Mivshek
Compassionate, Specialized Care for Children, Teens, Adults, and Families
Dr. Heather Mivshek is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has spent more than 20 years helping children, teens, adults, and families move through some of life’s hardest seasons. Her work is grounded in warmth, trust, and practical support, with a deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for help.
Families often come to Dr. Mivshek when a child or teen is struggling with big emotions, anxiety, ADHD, school stress, behavior challenges, grief, trauma, or major life changes. Adults may reach out when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, grieving, or weighed down by past experiences. In each case, Dr. Mivshek works to create a space that feels steady, safe, and supportive.
Her approach is both compassionate and structured. She takes time to understand what is happening beneath the surface, then works with clients and families to build tools that fit real life. With children and teens, this may include creativity, play, skill-building, and parent support. With adults, it may include space to process, make sense of patterns, strengthen coping skills, and feel more grounded. Clients often describe her as warm, thoughtful, direct, and easy to trust.
Dr. Mivshek draws from multiple evidence-based therapy approaches including CBT, PCIT, PC-CARE, TF-CBT, EMDR, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed approaches. She personalizes therapy around each client’s age, needs, strengths, culture, family context, and goals.
